When and Where to Meet Salaton Ole Ntutu

Salaton Ole Ntutu, Maasai Warrior, Chief and HealerSalaton Ole Ntutu, Maasai chief, shaman and community leader, is visiting the San Francisco Bay Area to forge a link between his tribal community in Kenya and ours in the US by sharing his wisdom and life stories. He is coming to generate awareness and support for his community’s health and education projects, and efforts to preserve culture and nature while developing a self- sustaining community in changing times. During his visit, Salaton will engage in conversations about his traditional Maasai life from childhood, through warriorship, into his present role as a visionary leader bridging world cultures.

Asante Africa Foundation Donor Journey

Salaton will share stories and experiences of growing up Maasai, becoming a warrior, chief and shaman. He will talk about the blessings and challenges experienced by his community today, and how Asante Africa Foundation is making a difference. Past and potential donors are welcome to talk about the possibilities for visiting Kenya and Tanzania to see the projects funded with their support, and meet the people doing the work in-country. The gathering will be hosted by Asante Africa Foundation CEO Erna Grasz, Livermore, CA.

Kenya Culture Conversation with Maasai Leader Salaton Ole Ntutu

Come for conversation and chai, with a special guest from Kenya, Salaton Ole Ntutu who is a chief, shaman, and visionary community leader. Hosted by Kenyan artist Githinji Mbire at Oakland’s Omiiroo Gallery, you are welcome to come and hear of the blessings and challenges of the Maasai. Salaton will share his stories of his traditional Maasai life from childhood days herding goats and cows amongst wild animals, through warriorship when he spent seven years in the African bush with little more than a spear and a blanket, into his present role as a visionary leader. Today, he is helping his people navigate the challenges of retaining their culture and way of life in the face of pressing environmental, social and economic threats. He incorporates world views in his mission, through travels to India, Europe, and the US.

Sharing the Stories, Blessings and Challenges of the Maasai

Salaton will share stories and experiences of growing up Maasai, becoming a warrior, chief and shaman. He will talk about the blessings and challenges experienced by his community today, as well as conservation efforts and his Kenya safari adventures. The gathering will be hosted at the home of past-travelers with Susan Olofson Travel to Salaton’s village in Oakland, CA.

Saturday, February 25, 3-4:30pm: Lindsey Wildlife Museum, Walnut Creek, CA

Maasai Culture and Kenya Wildlife

All ages will enjoy Salaton’s stories of growing up as a Maasai boy, to become a brave warrior, healer and community leader. Learn about how he used knowledge of animal behavior and sounds to survive amongst wild animals since childhood, and how he is protecting the environment for wild animals today. Program is free with museum admission.
